Pius has 25 years of unparalleled experience in investment banking, legal, regulatory, compliance and other risk management areas. He has a demonstrable track record of successfully growing and managing award-winning businesses and teams. He is a solicitor of England and Wales, and Hong Kong. He is a member of the Hong Kong Law Society and the Law Society of England and Wales. He held types 1, 4 and 6 licences issued by the HK SFC and was Responsible Officer and Executive Officer for HSBC in Hong Kong.

Pius is advising on a number of fundraisings for growth capital for aquaculture, non-bank financial institutions, healthcare, private water supply operators, and others. He is also advising various vendors on divestitures of their businesses, including education, non-bank financial institutions and others. Increasingly, sustainability and ESG feature in many of his advisory engagements.

Pius was Managing Director and held senior roles at HSBC working with a wide array of clients across Asia and beyond. Senior leadership positions with HSBC included Head of Capital Financing, Hong Kong, Head of Transaction Management Capital Financing, Asia, and served as a member of exco and risk management committee of HSBC, Hong Kong, and mancom for Advisory Global, DCM Global and Capital Financing Asia.

He has multi-product exposure through various economic cycles. He led landmark and groundbreaking conventional, Islamic, green and sustainable financing solutions for multilateral, government, corporate and commercial clients.

He was recognised by International Financial Law Review Asia (“IFLR”) with its Outstanding Achievement award.

He regularly engages with governments, regulators, policymakers, market participants and industry bodies in market opening discussions, legal, regulatory, market developments and best practices.

He was actively involved in multiple initiatives on capital market and financing developments including Asean+3 Bond Market Forum and other initiatives undertaken by ADB, IFC, MAS, HKMA, TMA, Financial Services Development Council of HK, PBOC, NAFMII, SEBI, Bank Negara, Malaysia, SC Malaysia, WEF and APEC.

He is active in industry bodies and has chaired various committees of market associations, including the International Capital Market Association, Asia, Asian Securities Industry & Financial Market Association, Asia Pacific Loan Market Association and Asia-Pacific Structured Finance Association.

He was also the convenor of the working group for the development of Islamic Finance in Hong Kong for the Treasury Markets Association.

He also served as chairman of the debt capital markets committee of the Singapore Investment Banking Association.
